A time is coming to an end, and everything is far too late.
Inspired by historical events, I created this set of photographs of aircrafts with flowers. Obviously, fighter aircrafts are associated with warfare and flowers are associated with romance. By showing them together, I want to present both the cruelty and romance of war.
As a descendant of veterans, I am always interested in the representation of warfare in art and literature pieces. In said fictional works, warfare are usually represented as tragedy, but embedded with optimistic heroism and bravery. Like flowers in my photographs: they can be viewed as grieving laments in funeral, trophies celebrating a triumph, or treat them more graphically, as resemblance of exploding flak shells.
